Trace the flower
Before colouring, trace it. This is a dashed flower printed large for small hands: print it, follow the dots with a pencil, and the child ends up with a drawing they made themselves. Tracing the shape first is what builds pencil control, and it makes the colouring that follows a lot easier.

Where can you print free Stitch coloring pages?
Right here. This page has 38 free Stitch coloring pages you can print in about a minute: no sign-up, no email, no watermark. Each one is an original drawing of our own little blue alien, sized for both US Letter and A4, and every design can also be colored online in your browser.
What colors is the little blue alien?
The classic look is bright blue fur with a lighter blue belly and muzzle, big dark eyes, a deep blue nose and pink inside the ears, usually with a red hibiscus flower somewhere nearby. The colored example at the top of this page uses exactly that palette, so you can copy it straight off the screen. But these are your pages, and purple or turquoise fur looks brilliant too.
Tips for coloring the tropics
These pages are full of beach. Waves, palm leaves, hibiscus flowers and sunsets. Give yourself two blues, a light one for the sky and a deeper one for the sea, and the whole picture snaps into place. Keep the alien one flat, even blue so the small details stand out against him: the ukulele, the ice cream, the snorkel mask. Sunsets love yellow blending into orange and then pink. The patterned tropical page colors like a mandala, so pick three or four colors and repeat them around the page. If you color with markers, print on thicker paper (cardstock) so nothing bleeds through; crayons, wax pastels and colored pencils are happy on plain printer paper.
Which page should you print first?
For toddlers, start with the easy smiling face: extra-thick lines, big open areas, nothing fiddly. Kids from about four to eight head straight for the action, the surfboard, the rocket and the underwater scene. Older kids and grown-ups usually pick the patterned tropical page, which can take a whole evening. Planning a summer party? Print a stack of the surfing page and hand out blue and yellow pencils.
